Residency Program
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta offers six PGY1 (postgraduate Year 1) residency positions in obstetrics & gynecology. Our residency program has full accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Canadian applicants to these programs must apply through the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS).

Master’s and PhD Programs
Several of our department members have cross-appointments to departments in the basic medical sciences in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. These include Physiology, Medical Microbiology & Immunology and Oncology. Programs leading to a PhD degree are offered through these departments.
Faculty members in our basic science division - the
Division of Reproductive Sciences - have mentored numerous post-doctoral fellows who have continued in medical/research careers.
